Sports Coach – School – Retford

Teachers UK are currently recruiting a passionate, energetic and enthusiastic Sports Coach to work on a supply basis at a school in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sports Coach looking for flexible opportunities within education, whether you’re an experienced coach, a sports graduate or someone with a passion for physical education and supporting young people.

We are looking for someone who can inspire pupils through sport and physical activity, promote teamwork and confidence, and create a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Role As a Supply Sports Coach, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and inclusive sports activities to pupils of varying ages and abilities.
• Supporting the delivery of Physical Education (PE) lessons and school sporting activities.
• Encouraging pupils to develop their physical fitness, coordination and sporting skills.
• Promoting teamwork, confidence, resilience and positive behaviour through sport.
• Supporting pupils with different learning needs and abilities.
• Supervising groups of pupils and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assisting with extracurricular sporting activities and school sports events where required.
• Managing behaviour effectively and encouraging positive participation.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, PE staff and school leadership teams.

RequirementsTo be considered for this Sports Coach position, you should have:

• Experience coaching sports or working with children and young people, ideally within a school setting.
• A relevant sports coaching qualification or sports-related degree (desirable).
• A genuine passion for sport, physical education and supporting young people’s development.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• The ability to engage, motivate and inspire pupils of varying abilities.
• Confidence in leading group activities and maintaining a safe environment.
• A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
