English Teacher – Secondary School – Mansfield

Teachers UK are currently recruiting a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to work on a supply basis at a secondary school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified English Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities, whether you’re an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

We are looking for someone who can inspire students through English Language and Literature, deliver engaging lessons and create a positive learning environment for pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

The RoleAs a Supply English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and informative English lessons to secondary school pupils.
• Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum.
• Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, communication and analytical skills.
• Preparing pupils for GCSE English examinations and assessments.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership teams.

RequirementsTo be considered for this English Teacher position, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting (desirable).
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
• A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
