Music Teacher – Secondary School – DerbyTeachers UK are currently recruiting a passionate, creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher to work on a supply basis at a secondary school in Derby, Derbyshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Music Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities, whether you’re an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

We are looking for someone who can inspire students through music, deliver engaging lessons and create a positive learning environment for pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

The Role As a Supply Music Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and creative Music lessons to secondary school pupils.
• Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum.
• Encouraging students to develop their musical knowledge, creativity and practical skills.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership teams.

RequirementsTo be considered for this Music Teacher position, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting (desirable).
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music education.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
• A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
