Teachers UK are looking to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants for a variety of roles within Special Educational Needs (SEND ) schools in the Nottinghamshire   area.  

We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEND TA) to support a variety of SEND schools with pupils who have complex needs including, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and physical disabilities (PD).  

An understanding around these complexities is highly desirable for all Teaching Assistants. We have a variety of Teaching Assistant positions available and can offer flexible working, there will also be options to secure permanent posts.

We are looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants with a minimum of a Level 2 TA qualification. You must have the enthusiasm and passion for supporting learners and teachers in SEND schools.  

Typical Teaching Assistant hours are 8.30am-3.30pm with an hour for lunch. 

Candidates applying for this post must have: 

  • A caring and nurturing nature
  • Previous Teaching Assistant experience 
  • Ideally, a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification  
  • Previous experience working with children in a SEND setting or mainstream school
  • Positive and effective behaviour management strategies  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • The capability to work effectively within a dedicated team
