Paul Whiteman, general secretary of the National Association of Head Teachers, highlights that throughout the pandemic, schools have remained open for key worker staff and teachers have overnight adapted to their work in order to educate children online. All this has been achieved when 25% of staff have been genuinely ill; he does not use the term re-opening of schools because they have been open all a long and staff have worked hard.
