This is a full-time, long-term position and will be permanent for the right person. You will be supporting pupils with ADHD, Autism and Complex Care Need – mostly SEMH needs and pupils who have experienced Trauma. The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups, depending on the needs of the school. There are only 7 students to class, with 1 Class Teacher and a minimum of 2 TA’s, depending on the needs of the class.
The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting.

SEN Teaching Assistant benefits:
• Competitive daily rate (£92.63 – £100 per day, dependent on experience)
• PAYE paid weekly
• Long-term stability with the potential of a permanent role
• Access to professional development and CPD opportunities
• Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement
• £150 refer a friend scheme (T&Cs apply)

SEN Teaching Assistant role requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN TA or a experience within transferable role such as a Youth Worker, Activity Instructor or Care Assistant
• Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs
•Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
• Adapt learning activities to support different learning styles
• Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons
•Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
• Work closely with the SENCO, teacher and wider support staff
